Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Warm, gooey, and full of chocolate-y goodness, these cookie bars will be gone in a blink. Perfect for any occasion, they combine a crunchy exterior with a soft, melt-in-your-mouth center. Whether enjoyed with a glass of cold milk or a hot cup of coffee, these treats are sure to be a crowd pleaser.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter melted
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar light or dark
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 chocolate bars your favourite!
  • 1 (14) oz can sweetened condensed milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a 9×13 baking dish with parchment paper.
  • In a large stand mixer, combine the melted butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda and salt.
  • Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet until a dough forms.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and set aside.
  • Wet your fingers with water and scoop half the cookie dough into the baking dish.
  • Chop your candy bars into fine bits and sprinkle over dough.
  • Pour the condensed milk over the candy and dough – it will look messy.
  • Using wet fingers, spread remained dough over the milk/candy layer.
  • Your layers should be cookie dough, chocolate bars, sweetened condensed milk, cookie dough.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until top is golden brown.
  • Cool completely before serving.
