I often hear people say, “I think I was just born in the wrong century”. More often than not, they’re talking to me, and decide to switch out the “I” with a slightly derogatory “you”.
At first I took the term into consideration, pacing barefoot on the floorboards, wondering if I was indeed born in the wrong century. As I sipped my peppermint tea, I thought behind the reasonings of a person telling me, in a plain sense: “You don’t belong here”.
But I would rather see the bright side than bring myself repercussions from a negative outlook.
“The fact of the matter is that each and every moment presents us with an opportunity to choose to see the perfection in our current circumstances. We might not be exactly where we want to be, but we’re exactly where we’re supposed to be.” –Bethany Butzer
I belong here. I promise I do. I’m not here on Edison’s behalf to learn innovative ideas from the future. If my dreams and aspirations in life are different than yours, that’s okay. It doesn’t mean I’m in the wrong century, it means I’m me.
Sometimes you see something and think it doesn’t belong where it is, but in reality, it’s exactly where it’s meant to be.
This might be a stretch in comparison, but take notice of these brownies. Decadent, rich, chewy, fudgy, and full of black beans.
What?
Yes. Black beans. Your first initial thought might be that beans simply shouldn’t be in a brownie. I understand, I do. It seems like it doesn’t belong, doesn’t it?
You know, if you look on the bright side this time around, it might just change your perspective.
In this case, those black beans are exactly where they need to be. : )

Much Love,
Katherine Marie
My Bible Verse For Today:
“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
